Navigators – Summer term 1 Homework

Home reading – At least 3 times each week, with reading record signed and returned to school.

Spellings – Spell Shed activity based on the spelling rule being taught in class.

Times tables - Times table Rock star practice / challenge.

Choose 3 tasks to be completed this half term

 

Imagine they are an evacuee leaving home for the countryside

Write a diary entry describing: 1.The journey (train, emotions, sights)

2.Saying goodbye to family

3.First impressions of the new home

 

Design and draw (or make) a suitcase showing what they would take if evacuated

  • Draw or create a labelled suitcase with 6–8 items
  • Write a short paragraph explaining each choice

 

Write a letter from a child evacuee to their family

Describe daily life in the countryside

Include feelings (homesick, excited, scared)

Mention school, food, and host family

 

Create a poster encouraging  families to evacuate children Include a slogan and bold visuals

Explore differences evacuees experienced.

Split page into two:

City life v Countryside life

Add drawings and descriptive phrases

 

Create a realistic evacuee label/tag

Include Name  ,age and destination. Decorate it to look aged/realistic
