Choose 3 tasks to be completed this half term

Make a poster to raise awareness of the issues facing our oceans. Use and research some ‘ocean saving’ charities to include.

Write a descriptive piece of writing about the Great Barrier Reef.

• Imagine you are on the reef – what can colours can you see from the creatures and coral?
• Is there any damage due to climate change?

Create a poem that incorporates all the oceans and their size 0 this poem is then going to be used to help future classes when they are learning about the 5 oceans in the world. Remember, poetry is ‘Writing with no rules!’

Recycled art – use items from your recycling to create a piece of art depicting an ocean dwelling creature.
 

Design a new creature. You need to think about the animal’s habitat, what adaptations has it got that make it suited to living there. How does it hunt/catch its prey?

Label the key features of the creature.

Write an open letter to world leaders from the perspective of a sea creature. Explain to them the troubles your home is facing and what they could do to help. This can be an informal or formal letter – try to maintain the same tone throughout.
